November is one of the busiest months of the PhD application year. PhD schools in Europe close their autumn calls, Asian fellowship schemes open, and the first US-style deadlines arrive on 1 December. These are the funded PhD calls on ScholarsChapter that close between now and the end of November 2026 — each one checked against the official page or the recruiting supervisor’s own announcement.

- University of Limerick — two MSCA PhDs in circular electronics: closes 30 October, 17:00.
- ELLIS PhD Program 2027 (machine learning across Europe) and the ELLE PhD network on safe AI: both through the ELLIS portal by 31 October, 23:59 AoE.

Three things to do this week
- Ask your referees now. Most of these calls need two or three letters, and referees need at least two weeks.
- Check the mobility rule on any MSCA position: you usually must not have lived in the host country for more than 12 of the last 36 months.
- Read our step-by-step PhD application guide and supervisor email templates.
