Overview
The Beijing Government Scholarship (BGS) supports international undergraduate, master’s and doctoral students at participating Beijing institutions. You apply directly to the institution, which sets documents and deadlines and decides the category.
Category A: tuition, accommodation, living expenses and comprehensive medical insurance. Category B: tuition, accommodation and insurance. Category C: tuition and insurance. Recipients are reviewed every year.
Who can apply
Non-Chinese citizens in good health, up to 25 at enrollment for bachelor's. Chinese-taught degree programs need HSK 4+; English-taught programs need proof of English. Category A generally expects an average of 85+ or GPA 3.6+ from a key secondary school and TOEFL 85 / IELTS 6.5; Categories B and C generally 80+ or GPA 3.0+.

Mandatory conditions

- You cannot hold another Chinese government or institutional scholarship at the same time.
