Overview
The Japanese Government (MEXT) Undergraduate Scholarship funds a bachelor’s degree at a Japanese university, normally after a one-year preparatory course in Japanese (5 years total) or 4 years if placed directly. Pakistani applicants apply through the Embassy of Japan in Pakistan, which screens candidates with a written exam and interview.
For 2027 entry, embassy calls ran in spring 2026 (for example, the Delhi first-screening deadline was 25 May 2026). Deadlines and minimum marks vary by embassy — watch the Embassy of Japan in Pakistan for the 2028 call.
