Overview
Every Italian region runs DSU (“diritto allo studio”) scholarships for students at its universities, based on family income and academic merit. International students can apply; income and assets abroad are assessed with special documents. Winners at the University of Milan receive a cash grant, full tuition exemption and a free daily meal; partial winners get a 50% exemption.
At the University of Milan the 2026/27 window ran 10 July – 30 September 2026. Other regions (Lazio DiSCo, ER.GO Emilia-Romagna, EDISU Piemonte and others) run their own calls, usually in summer — check the DSU office of the university you are admitted to.
